Missing person - HeatherLEGOGirl

If you're a regular reader of the variety of major LEGO blogs out there, you've already seen this, but I'm passing it along on the theory that at least some of my readers come from outside the hobbyist community. Heather Braaten, who you may know on various online forums as HeatherLEGOGirl, has been missing for the past week. She was last seen in Seattle, Washington. If you see Heather, or know anything of her whereabouts, please contact Lino Martins at linotopia AT hotmail DOT com , as he is in close touch with Heather's family, or directly contact the Seattle police department. Or use any of the contact information on the flyer below.

movie theater

Jennifer Heaton's movie theater gives a nod to the art deco movie palaces of the past. There are many delightful details, such as the gaps created by the wedge plates on either side of the entrance, extending above the marquee. The ticket booth is deftly captured with four stacked 1x1 plates. The decorated tile, behind the silver antenna, is another nice touch.

This was one of several new modules displayed at the March TwinLUG meeting. Jennifer also built the mosque, which you can see in the background.

cemetery

This cemetery was one of several new modules that Nathan Stohlmann displayed at the March TwinLUG meeting.

Curious about the building technique? Here's a view of the underside.

MOCathalon

One of the categories in the 2012 MOCathalon is 'elephant and the fly', challenging builders to take a large scale model and microsize it. Dave Kaleta took the newly announce set 10224 down a notch to make his Mini Modular Town Hall.

Master Builder

If you sign up for the LEGO Master Builder Academy, for your $60 subscription you get five kits, access to online content, and instructions on how to build like a 'real master builder'. Anyway, one of the kits last year was 20201 - Microscale.

Micropolis at family building event

TwinLUG members Nathan and Jennifer set up a Micropolis display for a family LEGO building event last weekend. That's Gary's maze in the lower left.

The event was held at Leonardo's Basement, which runs science, art, and technology programs for youth and adults in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Photos of the kids' projects can be seen here.

Wish I had taken more photos.
